Suicide is the second leading result in of death amongst college students. Information shows that international college students rank highly compared to other demographic groups on campus. Universities such as SUNY Buffalo located in Western NY have large international student populations. International students account for 15% of the student body or 4363 out of 28192 students. Culture shock, academic pressure and lack of social ties might contribute to depression for students who are new to the United States. Depression is the leading lead to of suicidal behavior. We encourage students who suffer from depression to seek social assistance through on campus activities and clubs. Meeting men and women who share the identical interests, decreases depression and promotes a wholesome lifestyle.
